Review: Mura Boutique

August 27, 2015 by Olivia 2 Comments

Hello Lovelies!

Blue and White Playsuit // Lace Dress // Two Piece Set

I first found out about Mura Boutique on Instagram. When I was scrolling through the explore section, I noticed the most adorable picture of one of their rompers and instantly fell in love with the brand. I love how a lot of their clothing is so different than what I have seen from American brands. I visited the website and loved probably 95% of what they have listed… the only downside was the price. Australia is notorious for being more expensive than the states, so when I saw the prices I wasn’t too surprised. After being bombarded with cute Instagram post after cute Instagram post, I decided to make a purchase (oh social media marketing). I bought a printed ‘playsuit’ with an open back in the size 8, which is a small in American sizing. What you have to remember when you buy from overseas, is there will more than likely be an obscene shipping cost ($15 to ship to the US).

When DHL delivered my package, I was so excited to try on my new romper. I ran to my room and opened the package and was happy to see that the romper looked exactly like it did online. However, being the 5 foot 9 inch tall home girl I am, when I tried it on my booty cheeks where hanging out. I was so annoyed because I spent so much money on it and I am usually a size small everywhere else. Despite returning it like any normal human being, being the lazy person I am (shout out to you if you read my Nars review), I didn’t send it back to the store. Instead, I shoved it in my closet with the thought that maybe I could wear it if I paired it with an oversized knit sweater that covered my butt (nope not gonna happen, folks). What is good about Mura Boutique, is they have a strong customer service team and they are more than willing to make a return or exchange for you within a certain timeframe. Everyone knows it is difficult to purchase something online from a different country without knowing the sizing and trying it on first. Learn from me and take advantage of the return policy if you’re going to spend all that money!

Overall, I love Mura Boutique’s clothing and brand presence (sorry I am a marketing major). Their Instagram is amazing and they are always posting cute outfit combinations and their new arrivals. Although I only make a purchase once in awhile, two out of the three outfits I own from them worked out great! I definitely recommend checking out Mura, just make your decision thoroughly and order a size up if you are weary.

Note: I am selling the first romper I received from Mura on my Poshmark closet since clearly it is too late to return something I bought n February. You can find that HERE!

The same exact thing happened to me!! I am a U.S small/medium, because I am in-between sizes I usually buy either a 4 or 6. When shopping at boutiques (especially online since there are no boutiques near me) I always go for an 8 because I assume they will run small, and I would rather it be a little bit bigger than smaller. Anyways, I live in New England and my family booked a cruise to the Bahamas during my April vacation a month ago(October). I thought it was a great idea to buy clearanced summer clothes online on cyber monday. I was right and when I found Mura I was in heaven,it was filled with tuns of cute summer outfits all on sale, it was the epitome of what I was looking for. I spent around 200$ on a handful of rompers and a maxi skirt (size medium or 8) all of which I loved. Long story short they came in the mail today and the only one that fits is the maxi skirt probably because it covers more than .1% of my ass. The rompers/skirt look exactly like they do as advertised so that was a plus, the waist and bust fit perfectly but let me tell ya those cheeks were out like way out and there was no hiding them. The worst part is I absolutely loved the look of them (from the waist up of course) if only they were an inch longer. I looked up the return requirements and of course you can't return sale items. So here I am with 200$ worth of unwearable clothes. I immediately emailed Mura to see if there was any possible solution for my problem. I also looked into Poshmark, which is my plan B incase Mura doesn't offer any type of exchange. I took a look at Mura's sizes more in depth, the bust and waist were accurate which didn't surprise me because thats what actually fit, but I realized that their lengths didn't change for any of the sizes (60cm from the hip down for each). This makes me question would buying a larger size solve the length situation? also was Poshmark worth it?
